Spring Painting Process Art

Monday, March 21, 2016
Spring is coming and the birds are starting to sing again! Today in art, I put out some spring colored tempera, a bouquet of flowers, and a jar of feathers.

Naturally, the kids started painting birds. This one on the right has a speech bubble that says "peep!" :)

This was so simple and fostered so much conversation about the different color birds children had seen these last few weeks.

It will also be a great lead-up to our birds unit we'll do in a couple of weeks.

  1. I love how you use all the resource possible to create the atmosphere of the spring. Kids need to touch the stuff to see that spring has really come into town. Using feather and flowers will give the chance to trigger their imagination and make them do beautiful paintings that will be joy for the eye and the perfect decoration for the classroom. Writing essays isn’t always a fun activity if course, but writing about spring will make it easier. Since now we have the opportunity to find a narrative essay online it will be easier for the students to express their thoughts on the up-coming spring.
